Where do all the words go?

Strings of letters thrown aside

Poems wasted never tried

Casual hellos cordially cast

Left behind in the past

Yesterday’s story stretched too long

The lines of a soothing song

All eventually end up gone

Words of anger thrown so curt

Fade away leaving only hurt

Where do all the words go?

They pile up in our past

A history wide and vast

Leaving questions never asked

Scars hidden and carefully masked

Words are powerful you should know

They can make us wither or grow

So watch your words and keep them kind

Later it will feel better in the back of your mind.
